"About a month ago I asked whether anyone had experience of using a drying rack with an Aga. Lots of people replied with helpful advice and experiences, so I thought I would report back, in case other people are asking similar questions.
After thinking it over carefully I ordered the 'fully monty' from Blake & Bull. This consists of an extra rail that hooks onto the front of the Aga, plus a two-tier drying rack that sits tidily on top of the Aga, straddling the hotplates and taking advantage of the warm air rising off them and the top surface.
B&B were very good to deal with: they replied almost instantly to my email, let me know when things had shipped. sent me the tracking number, and even put in a couple of little packs of sweeties 
The first thing I noticed was that this assemblage is very robust: good solid metal that will clearly last a lifetime. I quailed when I saw there were no instructions for how to put it together but actually it was so simple that even I did it in about 3 minutes :-))
Even though lots of people had shared their good experiences, to be honest I wasn't sure how well it would really work as a dryer---but you were all right. It's great! I was actually very surprised to find just how quickly things do dry. Particularly if I turn the clothes after a couple of hours, I find most loads will dry easily in 3-4 hours; certainly overnight. Just as you all said, sheets come out beautifully if just folded and hung on the (original and extra) rails, with no ironing needed
These days, when everyone is trying to be more environmentally aware, it's especially pleasing that the 'full monty' works without having to use even one watt of extra electricity--just the heat that comes off the Aga anyway.
There were two things I hadn't expected. First, it's really tidy. If the clothes are folded nicely, they sit demurely above the Aga and the whole assembly looks very neat, even when a whole load of wash is drying. When not in use it folds down and lives unobtrusively behind a chair right next to the Aga. Second (and this surprised me) it makes the house feel much more peaceful. Instead of the din of the tumble dryer thundering away for hours, there's peace and quiet as the clothes gently dry in the heat of the Aga. Somehow that's very relaxing.
So thank you again to all Aga friends who encouraged me to go for it. I really couldn't be happier with this system---I only wish I'd known about it years ago."
